Afghan Community Support of Waterloo Region, “A non-profit and non-political organization dedicated to enriching the lives of those residing in Waterloo region.

Our Aims and Objectives:

      • Preserve and promote Afghan culture, language, and strengthen bonds between Afghans families.

      • Warmly welcome newcomers and provide essential assistance, including resettlement, housing, access to family doctors, educational document assesment, job opportunities, translation, interpretation, and transportation aid.

      • Organize Religious affairs and needs like, building Islamic school, purchasing graveyard, death body washing, and interment pray arrangement.

      • Provide support for seniors on their routine activity

      • Provide support and assistance to our members and their families during emergencies, such as sudden disability, illness, or loss. And solve family conflicts.

    Executive board of committee:

    Our Executive Committee, comprising 5-10 members, will be elected annually through direct member votes. They will fill the following key functional positions:

    Elections and Terms:

    Elections for the Executive Committee positions will be held yearly, and existing members can be re-elected at the end of their terms. Candidates must be proficient in English, Dari, and Pashtu.

    Rights and Privileges:

    In our committee, all members will enjoy equal rights and privileges, irrespective of color, sex, religion, academic qualifications, or professional experience. Advisors and Patrons are ineligible to run for office in the Association. Join our passionate community as we strive to make a meaningful impact, all fueled by dedicated volunteers. Together, we can build a stronger, connected, and supportive Afghan community in Waterloo region.
